Groningen - Today the GreenEcoNet platform enters a new phase of its development, says Wytze va der Gaast, member of the board and finance director of Stichting GreenEcoNet

The project GreenEcoNet was funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme during 2013-2016 with the objective to collect best practice examples of green business initiatives by European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A European consortium of partners spoke with a wide range of entrepreneurs, and their stories, posted on this platform under ‘solutions’, illustrate what needs to be done to green business, how to persist when barriers are met and how rewarding the end result can be!

After completion of the project, a few partners have taken the initiative to establish a not-for-project organization to continue the work of GreenEcoNet. The spin off organization, also named GreenEcoNet, is managed by board members: Corrado Topi, Marten Imelman and Wytze van der Gaast. Corrado and Wytze already worked on GreenEcoNet when it was a Horizon 2020 project. Marten has a long experience with assisting SMEs in formulating company level agendas for sustainable futures through his Dutch company Duurzom.
