In this case, Innoven due to the unsustainable use of electricity, decided to use the Building InSights, in order to reduce the energy consumption.

The client
With an annual energy consumption of 12,9 GWh, a yearly electricity bill exceeding €1.500.000 and a peak demand of 2.100 kW, energy efficiency is definitely a priority.

The challenge
The factory’s management was looking for an integrated solution to monitor, manage and optimize its significant energy consumption, in order to achieve its strategic goal of a more sustainable energy usage. The introduction of a reliable and detailed energy profile was necessary due to the size of the installation.

The solution
Using the Building InSights application, Innoven’s engineers collected the first data to arise the initial results. After evaluating key energy loads, it was revealed that a significant proportion of total consumption, about 20% was used to air compressors and freezers.
The detailed monitoring plan helped to design a more accurate maintenance program and also to install modern technological equipment in case of low efficiency operation.
The consumption was decreased approximately 4% due to the installation of new equipment. Additionally, a reduction of 5% to the peak demand was achieved with the contribution of the Building InSights application.
Finally, by monitoring in real time the production line loads, Innoven’s engineers realized that there was no reduction to the consumption in production gaps. So, by taking the appropriate actions during those gaps, a reduction of 2% in consumption was achieved.
