Libeco is one of the largest linen weavers in Europe and has a turnover of approximately €35 million and employs around 200 people. It is composed of a variety of companies all dedicated to the manufacturing and distribution of high end linen and linen products.

Libeco has a green strategy for many years and an environmental action plan was implemented in 2011 in order to further reduce its climate impact. Consequently, Libeco has been able to halve its carbon emissions in the past two years and its operations will be entirely CO2 neutral by mid-2014.

Libeco's reduction plan in collaboration with CO2logic, which saw implementation begin in 2012, includes a complete switch to green electricity, the installation of more efficient lighting, the replacement of several company cars with more environmentally friendly models, as well as a number of measures pertaining to waste treatment.

By the end of 2013, the yearly emission of 715 tons of CO2 had been reduced to 403 tons. Judging by the savings potential of the various actions that have not yet been calculated, the actual reduction will be a halving of the emissions and Libeco will be offsetting its remaining CO2 emissions.
