Darwin's Home, a UK sustainable interiors SME, has been awarded a Green Apple Award for Best Environmental Practice in the Retail category. Darwin's Home received the award for its sustainable principles as well as the execution of their work.

To ensure sustainability credentials, all products sold on www.darwinshome.com are recyclable or made from natural or upcycled materials. For example all of wooden furniture is FSC or PEFC certified and all cotton is organic.

All items are normally made in Europe to keep their carbon footprint down. Where that is impossible, such as for bamboo tableware, they are made according to the fair trade charter. Darwin buy from small designers to help small businesses and also to ensure that our customers get unique products.

Lizanne Jakobs, MD, and Matt Turner, Marketing Director, attended the Green Apple awards on behalf of the Darwin's Home to receive the award.

"We are extremely proud to have received this award", Lizanne said, "it is real recognition that what we do and stand for here matters. We hope that with our work we can change consumers' buying criteria. We would like to achieve the same for the homeware sector as for the food and clothing sector, namely that people will buy on principle."

"With the products Darwin's Home offers, you can have healthier homeware and furniture of better quality and style in your own home, whilst helping the planet. "
