Connecting SMEs for a green economy

The Weconomy Index

Society operates based on a linear economy. This economy has reached a critical point where it destructs more than creates value. Criticism on this is growing, also in more conventional circles such as the climate negotiations (Paris 2015) or the World Economic Forum in Davos (January 2016). In light of these developments, it becomes increasingly important for organisations, including companies, to formulate strategies and new business models to create value for the organisation now and in the future. In order to support this, WEconomy brings together seven evolving sustainability trends.

These trends enable organisations to deal with sustainability as a strategic issue. They are translated into the WEconomy Index: a self–audit tool providing insight in how sustainability is addressed in your company. This tool has been developed at the Radboud University, Nijmegen School of Management (The Netherlands).

After completing the survey, organisations obtain instant results and recommendations enabling them to improve the way they handle sustainability.
